The reserve fund study is the document that says how much the condo has to set aside, and for which work. CondoAide reads it directly: instead of retyping a fifty-line work plan, you drop in the PDF your firm delivered.
Importing the study
- Open Contingency Fund in the left-hand menu.
- Click Import a study, at the top right of the page.
- If your syndicate has several buildings, pick the one the study covers.
- Drop the PDF, or click to select it. If the firm delivered several documents for the same study, drop them together.
- Let the analysis finish, then read the result before confirming. Nothing is written until you validate it.
The review screen is meant to be read, not skimmed: it is the only moment a treasurer sees what the reader made of the document before those figures become the syndicate's plan.
The templates that are recognised
A reserve fund study has no standard format. Every firm has its own layout, columns and way of presenting scenarios, so CondoAide has one reader per firm:

The import dialog shows this list, and that is the authoritative copy: it grows as templates are added.
If your study is refused
The refusal is deliberate. Faced with a document whose structure it does not recognise, the reader stops and says so instead of guessing amounts and years. A half-understood study would be far worse than one that failed to import: it would become the syndicate's funding plan with nobody knowing where the numbers came from.
Two ways forward:
- Choose another file, if you loaded the wrong document. An inspection report or a maintenance log, for instance, is not a reserve fund study.
- Write to us with the study attached. This is the normal route, and exactly how the existing templates got there: from a real study sent in by a syndicate.
Nothing is blocked in the meantime — the contingency fund parameters can also be entered by hand.
A study in several documents
A firm may deliver the work plan in one PDF and a contribution scenario in another. Taken separately, neither is a complete study. Put them in the same import — up to six documents — and they are read as one set.
Replacing an existing study
When a study is already loaded, the import does not silently overwrite it: it shows the study in place and asks for confirmation. A new study is a rare event with real consequences for contributions, and one question too many beats a work plan replaced by accident.
