Board titles in French were all masculine: « Président », « Trésorier », « Secrétaire-trésorier ». Since board messages are emailed signed with their author's name, a woman who chairs the board signed « Président du conseil d'administration ». CondoAide does not know anyone's gender and does not guess it from a name: each person chooses.
A choice in your profile
In « Profile & signatures », the « Your board title » card offers three forms of your own title:
- the masculine form, for example « Trésorier »;
- the feminine form, for example « Trésorière »;
- the gender-neutral form, which names the office rather than the person, for example « Trésorerie » or « Présidence ».
The choice is saved as soon as you click. It applies in every syndicate where you sit on the board. The card only appears to people who sit on a board.
Wherever your title appears
The chosen form shows:
- in the members list and the « Board of directors » card;
- under your name, in the sidebar;
- in the list of directors of a live meeting;
- in the « View recipients » window;
- in the attendance sheet and the signature block of minutes;
- under your name, in emails you send on the board's behalf, for example « Trésorière du conseil d'administration ».
An email already sent keeps the signature it had when it was sent.
English titles do not change with the form, so an English interface reads the same as before; the choice matters for the French titles, which are the ones printed on the syndicate's documents and emails.
Nothing changes unless you choose
If you do not choose, your title keeps the form it has had until now. « Secrétaire » and « Membre du conseil » read the same in all three forms.
