How-to guides, written from the questions you ask us

Thirteen guides answer "how do I" rather than "where is": fix a fund's opening balance, edit a transaction in a closed fiscal year, record an occupant who is neither owner nor tenant, and ten more.

Our help explained where the screens are. The questions two customers asked us this summer were about something else: not where to click, but what to do when the situation does not look like the simple case. The Guides section answers those, freely and without an account.

What the thirteen guides cover

On accounting:

  • which accounting basis CondoAide keeps your books on;
  • create the budget before entering transactions;
  • fix a fund's opening balance;
  • edit a transaction in a closed fiscal year;
  • set up a fund after you have already entered years of data;
  • the Transactions tab is empty but there is a balance;
  • a co-owner paid too much: how the credit works;
  • the required amount of the self-insurance fund.

On people and data:

  • role, unit ownership and a seat on the board are three different things;
  • recording an occupant who is neither owner nor tenant;
  • migrating from UpperBee;
  • import a maintenance log and schedule its tasks;
  • import a reserve fund study.

Every guide exists in French and in English.
