Many treasurers keep the caisse's monthly account statement as a PDF, not as a CSV file. Until now, they had to go back to AccèsD to download the same transactions in another format. A Desjardins account statement in PDF now imports as it is.
The same button, one more format
In "Finances", on the transactions tab, the button is now called "Import statement". The same drop zone accepts .csv, .xlsx, .txt and now .pdf files, up to 4 MB. The import is also offered on the reserve fund and self-insurance fund tabs.

CondoAide recognizes the statement and shows "Format detected: Desjardins (relevé PDF)". A Desjardins statement names each of the caisse's accounts: the first time, you map each account to its fund. Those mappings are kept and reused on later imports. You then review the transaction preview before importing, and transactions already imported are skipped, just as with a CSV file.
Every line is checked against the statement's balances
A Desjardins statement prints the account balance as the transactions go. CondoAide starts from each account's carried-forward balance, adds every transaction it read, and checks that the result gives exactly the printed balance, to the cent. It also checks that every date falls within the statement period.
At the slightest difference, nothing is imported: not the line at fault, and not the rest of the statement. The message says so: "The balances on this statement do not match the transactions read from it, so no transactions were imported as a precaution." A misread amount therefore cannot slip silently into your books.
This check is about the statement itself. It does not replace the month-end bank reconciliation.
What is supported
Only Desjardins account statements are read in PDF. For other financial institutions, and for credit cards, download your transactions as CSV or Excel: the CSV import is described here.
The statement must be the original downloaded from AccèsD. A scanned statement has no readable text and is refused, as is a layout CondoAide does not recognize yet. In each case a message says why, and no transaction is imported.
The statement is read by a service CondoAide runs on its own servers in Quebec, with no artificial intelligence and no outside text-recognition service. The PDF file is not kept: only the imported transactions are saved.
