Insurance add-on becomes Conformité copropriétaire

Four new obligations to track per owner — vents, plumbing, smoke alarm, water heater — join the existing insurance proof. Price unchanged at $9/month, automatic migration.

The Preuve d'assurance (Insurance Proof) add-on has been extended and renamed Conformité copropriétaire (Owner Compliance). It now covers five recurring obligations that Quebec condo syndicates must track per owner:

  • Home insurance proof — existing annual collection, unchanged.
  • Vent cleaning — dryer, range hood, HRV, central AC. Configurable cycle (typically every 2-3 years).
  • Private plumbing — annual attestation that flexible hoses are under 5 years and drains flow normally. Leverages civil liability (art. 1457 C.c.Q.) and contractual liability toward the syndicate in case of false declaration.
  • Smoke alarm — annual test + 10-year device replacement tracking (manufacturer date).
  • Water heater — installation proof and 10-year lifespan tracking. Reminders at year 8, board escalation at year 10.

For existing customers

Migration is automatic. Existing insurance submissions remain intact. The four new obligation types are ready to activate in the syndicate settings — each obligation activates independently based on your building's needs.

Integrations

  • The Bill 16 maintenance logbook (carnet d'entretien) receives obligations under syndicate responsibility (default: water heater and smoke alarm devices).
  • The syndicate certificate (article 1068.1 C.c.Q., content prescribed by Décret 991-2025) reflects unit compliance status across all five obligations during sale transactions.
  • The resident portal shows a "My obligations" status panel with color-coded items.
